Helping NS to re-enter the national bus market

The Dutch train company NS made a decision to complete their mobility chain by re-introducing bus lines under the name of Qbuzz. Due to de-regulation, bus companies had to compete for a concession. We decided that in order to win, a company would be well advised to present themselves as a total and complete enterprise, as if they were already in business. We went as far as including recognizable symbols of local culture. Our hopes were that this would increase trust, and help them to win. They won.

As the only Dutch bus company, claiming the color orange was of course obvious, supported by other colors from the Prince's flag: white and blue.

Üppig subsequently translated the visual identity into an extensive range of communications such as the introduction campaign, route information in the bus, information material, bus interior and the company uniform.
